I’m Davide De Gennaro. I live in Carpi near Modena. I started the first programming lesson at 13 and since then loving this field.
Working as web developer since 2014 and making videogames since 2008 in my free time.
First original project. Made using Love2D 0.7.2 as a framework with Lua language. The base theme was “Snake with physics”. So you control a snake that moves around to eat apples trying to not bite yourself. Everytime you eat an apple your body grow, and became more uncontrollable.
Project chosen to try libgdx as a framework and to learn basics of Android app development. Made using libGDX framework with Java language. It’s an animated wallpaper for android launchers, representing snow flakes that fall slowly. In normal condition the Live wallpaper is really fluid, unfortunately screen recording on Nexus 5 made the flakes act strangely in the video.
First game made for a Jam, in occasion of Ludum Dare 32, developed in 48 hours with a team of friends. The Jam theme was “An Unconventional Weapon”. The game is a top down action and you must wake-up your sleepwalker friends with your pillow. This is my first game done with the Unity3D framework.
Game made for Ludum Dare 33, developed in 48 hours all alone. Every asset (fonts excluded) was made in 48 hours by me. The Jam theme was “You are the Monster”. The game is a Dance Dance Revolution clone in wich you must scare a grumpy man, that sent you away on Halloween night. The inspiration was the scare competition in Monster University. The game was made using Unity3D as a game developing framework and aseprite for the pixel art sprites.
Game made for Ludum Dare 34, developed in 72 hours with a team of friends. The Jam themes were “Two Button Controls” and “Growing”. The game is a two buttons sidescroller in wich you are a garbage collector that must clean the road. You must collect everything or you’ll be fired and also you must remember to dump your garbage or your bag will explode! The game was made using Unity3D.
Game made for Global Game Jam 2016 @ Milan, developed in 48 hours with a team 14 people! The Jam theme was “Ritual”. The game is a mix of 3D first person adventure and 2D plattform. You are Timmy a boy who have summoned a deamon (Cornuto) you must help your new friend to escape hell by adding objects in the ritual circle. The game was made using Unity3D.
